End of an Era--Goodbye!
After much deliberation, we've decided to dissolve the nonprofit cetacean education and research organization, the Dancing Dolphin Institute.
Birthed in 1994, the DDI was at the forefront of the sentient cetacean and interspecies communication movement. The Dancing Dolphin Journal blog has been the outreach for the DDI in recent years after we put the DDI on sabbatical and removed the primary website. This blog will remain online for those who wish to view the posts and links.
We have come to this decision due to our increasing involvement in other projects, impending moves, and the little time we have to devote to the DDI.
We will continue to advocate and network for cetaceans, all marine life, and healthy aquatic ecosystems.
Beginning as a dolphin trainer, the Founder and President evolved into a presenter at conferences, seminar leader, author, and Reverend. Through her Dolphin Discovery program, she introduced people from around the world to the marine life in the Hawaiian waters and led groups to swim/commune with the dolphins and whales worldwide. Her work has been featured in print, radio, and television.
Mahalo for the wonderful memories, kinship and support we've received through the years. Even though we're a small nonprofit, we know we've contributed to the increase in awareness of dolphin consciousness and respect for marine life.
With the recent Deepwater Horizon oil spill, global sorrow, outrage and attention is focused on the oceans as never before. The cetaceans and oceans need our help and awareness. Here are some links should you feel called to offer assistance:

Pascagoula River Audubon Center (Mississippi)
Oilspillvolunteers.com (Mississippi)

We send our blessings to all. We'll see you in the Big Blue.

P.S. We sold many t-shirts in our day with this saying printed upon it:
One Heart
One Home
And So It Is!
Labels: dolphin consciousness, end of an era, whales and dolphins
